Colin Ross to have his beard cut off for charity12.02.00am GMT Wed 25th Nov 2009
As some readers maybe aware my friend Colin Ross will have his beard cut throat razored off for charity at the end of November. Colin has been growing his beard during the month of "Movember". Movember is a movement where men grow a moustache for charity. In 2008's Movember more than 173,000 people took part raising more than £14 million. Colin said "I decided to grow a beard and have it cut-throat razored off for charity after a discussion with friends on my birthday at the end of October, it is a fun, and silly, way of raising some money for charities. The money I raise will be split between a number of organisations including the Albert Kennedy Trust and Self Help Africa which are two charities close to my heart." To donate please send cheques made payable to 'Colin Ross' to Freepost RRSZ-EATX-GEKC Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats 3 Merridale Crescent Wolverhampton WV3 9QY. Wolverhampton-based Mat O'Marah from Waxing for Guys (http://www.waxingforguys.co.uk/) will be shaving Colin free of charge to help raise money for charity. Mat said "I will be returning Colin to a his usual smooth self, it is a great pleasure to be involved in helping Colin raise money for these charities and to raise awareness for the month of Movember." The Albert Kennedy Trust work to ensure that all lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people are able to live in accepting, supportive and caring homes, by providing a range of services to meet the individual needs of those who would otherwise be homeless or living in a hostile environment. It was set up after the sad death of Albert Kennedy twenty years ago.
